Looking for the best afternoon tea in Interlaken? Look no further than the Victoria Jungfrau hotel!
Not only will you be a temporary resident of the swankiest hotel in town, but you’ll also feel like royalty as you dine with them too.
I had a spectacular time here when I escaped inside on a rainy day, it’s the ideal activity to pass a few hours.
Here’s all you need to know about this scrumptious afternoon tea at the Victoria Jungfrau in Interlaken.
Getting to the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel in Interlaken
The Victoria Jungfrau Hotel certainly makes a statement and stands tall in the picturesque busy town of Interlaken.
As one of the oldest hotels in Interlaken, you really can’t miss it as it’s located on the main high street.
It’s also really accessible being only a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk from Interlaken Ost train station.
Placed beautifully opposite the snow-capped Jungfrau mountain, it’s in an ideal location between the two lakes of Brienz and Thun.
It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience if you’re lucky enough to book a room for the night!
Arriving at the Victoria Jungfrau
On the outside, it has pretty striped yellow shutters for when the sun rises in the morning and the whole hotel is lined with Juliet balconies for patrons to sip their coffees and enjoy their view of the valley.
On the inside, however, is room-to-room extravagance!
As you’re greeted into their palm tree lobby reception, the concierge couldn’t be friendlier.
I decided to take my afternoon tea at their café, Victoria Terrasse, and it was a luxurious experience, to say the least.
Do I need to be a guest or make a reservation for afternoon tea at the Victoria Jungfrau?
The great news is that you don’t even need to be a guest of Victoria Jungfrau Hotel to take afternoon tea here or eat at their restaurants.
In peak season you may need to book beforehand but, from my personal experience, I just rocked up and was shown to my seat instantly.
But if you don’t want to risk it, you can see their reservation page here.
The best afternoon tea in Interlaken can be found in Victoria Jungfrau Hotel
As I sat outside the Victoria Terrasse, overlooking the busy main street of Interlaken with a stonking view of the Jungfrau, I had to pinch myself that I was sitting there!
Their cast-iron tables are covered with chic white umbrellas, fountain bubbles, and pillars that have vine leaves coiling around them.
It was a really stunning setting. I waited in anticipation for my tea to arrive.
Jungfrau Hotel Interlaken afternoon tea menu
Afternoon teas at the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel start at 29 Francs.
But, you can treat yourself to coffees, cocktails and Moët & Chandon are all here for you to order off their elegant and stylish menu.
But, if you were on more of a budget or not hungry enough for the full afternoon tea experience, you can just order a coffee/tea and a cake.
I decided to order an English Breakfast blend for my afternoon tea (you can’t take England out of the girl!) and it came with all the trimmings including my favourite biscuit; Shortbread!
They really know how to serve in style here at the Victoria Jungfrau and every detail has been taken care of.
When I passed the bar walking in, I couldn’t help but coo at all the magnificent cakes which were chilling in their fridge!
After some tough deliberation of what to choose, I went for their Oreo cheesecake. It was almost too pretty to eat when it arrived at my table, but I eventually succumbed after taking way too many photos and it was so scrumptious!
As well as the cheesecake, there was an Orange Mousse, a Black Forest Gateau, and Eclairs all reasonably priced at around 7 Swiss Francs each.
My eyes were way too big for my belly at this point, but how I wished I could fit more in.
Inside the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel
After you’ve supped your last sip of afternoon tea and eaten every crumb of cake on your plate, it’s time to sneak around the Victoria Jungfrau hotel and see how the other half live!
The first thing you notice about the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel is the sheer length of the hotel.
As you walk around the ground floor, every room you step into is like a portrait.
Lavish furnishings, crystal chandeliers, and ballrooms are on offer for you to ogle at or sit and enjoy the atmosphere. I think when I entered the dining hall at the end, my jaw dropped!
I couldn’t believe the grandeur, it was just so beautiful. Apologies in advance now for the sheer amount of photos. But, it’s just so pretty.
Is it the best afternoon tea in Interlaken?
I rate this Victoria Jungfrau Hotel afternoon tea in Interlaken a 5/5!
If you are a fan of all things tea and cake, I would highly recommend visiting the Victoria Jungfrau Hotel for a respite of five-star luxury.
You’re in good hands with the service from start to finish here, even if you’re not staying for the night. It’s definitely the full ticket.
