Hi Sharon, no worries at all and thank you for reading! I don’t have any private tour recommendations I’m afraid as I did it all self-guided. I stayed at AMERON Hotel which is in the bottom of the town opposite Hohenschwangau. There is a restaraunt near to the castle which looks like an inn. It may have had rooms to rent once upon a time but no longer. I believe all accomodation is now in the village. Hope this helps, Sophie x

We were thinking of a private tour from Munich since my son is a photographer and might want to stop if possible for photos. Any recommendations for a private tour company or guide.

Also, just a quick question. I was at Neuschwanstein close to 30 yrs ago and stayed at a hotel or small castle I think it was close to the base of Neuschwanstein castle. Do you happen to know what that hotel might be called? For the life of me, I cannot remember. I might not even exist anymore. Thanks again for a wonderful article.
