Don’t forget travel Insurance!
Unfortunately, things can and do go wrong when you travel.
World Nomads offers coverage for more than 150 activities as well as emergency medical, lost luggage, trip cancellation and more.
As an affiliate, we receive a fee when you get a quote from World Nomads using this link. We do not represent World Nomads. This is information only and not a recommendation to buy travel insurance.
Looking for a tour? Use Get Your Guide!
Booking a tour isn’t always necessary when you travel but I find that Get Your Guide has some of the best offers for day trips and tickets.
I often book group trips to places I cannot easily travel to with public transport. It’s not only economically friendly to your wallet but to the environment too.

My favourite flight booking tools!
Skyscanner
I always book flights using Skyscanner!
This is my go-to app for finding cheap flights. You can find all sorts of flight deals if you look around.
My favourite ‘hack’ is to use the ‘anywhere’ function, remaining flexible with my dates and look for the cheapest months/days.
Another top tip – use the Incognito or private function on your browser so it doesn’t track your cookies (it keeps prices down!)
Expedia
A great app for ‘onward flights’
I don’t use Expedia as much but it’s a great tool if you need a proof of an onward flight on your travels.
You see, Expedia have a 24 refund guarantee on your flight purchase.
So, you can book a flight through them on the day of travel, ‘prove’ you have an onward flight and then get a full refund. Easy peasy!
Plus, it’s another site where you can price compare flights.
My favourite hotel booking sites
I always book accommodation with Booking.com
Every time I try to use a different booking app, I always end up returning to Booking.
I’ve used it for over six years now and it never fails. I love it as I can book cheap accomodation on the fly! (Which I have needed to more than once).
My biggest tip would be to keep checking for price drops nearer your travel date!
HostelWorld
HostelWorld connects you with other travellers
When I first started travelling I stayed in Hostels all the time! It was a great way to connect with other travellers – especially when you travel solo.
Plus, it’s always nice to save money on accomodation so you have more budget for experiences and food (duh!).
Hostelworld has the biggest range of options.
Want to stay online all over the world? You need a WiFi Hotspot!
Whether it’s calling a friend or a family member back home, booking an uber or posting on your social media – it’s always good to have Wi-Fi available to you abroad!
I use Keepgo which is a personal Wi-Fi hotspot. This helps keep my travel costs down and avoid those pesky roaming charges!
